It has been a while, and a lot has happened. The biggest being that we bought a house! We signed all the paperwork and moved in on April 25, and we have been unpacking, cleaning, and organizing ever since...we will post pictures later
Our weekends have been spent outside getting the yard cleaned up and planing our garden. On Saturday Aaron spent about 5 hours outside pulling sod to try to get an area cleaned...it is sad to say that in this time he didn't get very far in this endeavor and we are currently researching other ways to get rid of sod.
As you can see from our count down, baby Marshall is also growing and coming along. She is due on June 25th, and we all are looking forward to finally getting to meet her and welcome her into our family.
Alexis loves her new room, especially her new window which is HUGE and allows her to look outside and see so many wonderful things like birds, dogs, cats, flowers, AND neighbors--she has become quite the neighborhood watch. She also got a 'new' bed; we up-graded her to a twin sized bed that she likes to sleep on cross ways--I think this is because it gives her more room to roll. Alexis also loves being outside and helping Daddy 'play' in the dirt. She has her own shovel and rake and loves to help.
This week Albertson's was having a sale on strawberries, $1.19/lb, and since we won't get berries this year (everything I have heard is that you plant berries this year for a crop next year) I couldn't resist such a great offer that would also let us have strawberries, so I bought 12 lbs and spent Saturday in the kitchen making freezer jam while Aaron was working outside. We now have 12-1/2 pints of freezer jam, and we still have 4 more lbs. of strawberries that I am going to wash, slice, freeze on a cookie sheet and then transfer to a zip lock so we have frozen sliced strawberries--VERY exciting!
Aaron's last day of school is May 22, and last day of work is May 23--we couldn't be more thrilled. His last concert is on the 16th, and this week is his last week in the elementary schools, so everything is wrapping up and coming to a close. He has had a great first year, there has been lots of learning and lots of fun.
